Full credit goes to ketoLifestyleRecipes As requested, here is my keto friendly refried bean recipe. I'm using keto friendly organic non GMO black soybeans for my authentic creamy Mexican refried beans. Nutrition values for black soybeans: ½ cup

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Grind the garlic into a smooth paste with the backside of a chef's knife
  • Sauté onion garlic paste and serrano in the bacon fat
  • Stir in the cumin
  • chili powder
  • Stir in cooked black soybeans
  • Stir in salt and pepper
  • Turn heat up to medium high
  • Cook until the beans break down-stirring constantly
  • Squeeze in the juice from a lime wedge
  • Add reserved bean liquid if need be
  • Mash refried beans with a potato masher or blend with a stick blender
  • Adjust for desired creamy consistency - salt and pepper
  • Serve hot with shredded cheese
  • top with sour cream
  • cilantro
  • chopped green onion
  • sprinkle of bacon bits and a lime wedge
